Sister Grace was honored to be the entertainment for the Huntsville "Relay for Life" Survivor Dinner that took place last night. In the picture above, we are with Lindsey Jones, the Alabama junior spokesperson for The American Cancer Society. What an inspiration Lindsey is with her positive attitude! Although she is blind due to cancer, she definitely doesn't let that slow her down. She is involved in numerous activities including ballet, tap, band (snare drums), and Girl Scouts.
I first met Lindsey several months ago when she visited the company where I work, seeking a corporate sponsorship for this dinner. She knew Sister Grace was singing last night and when she got there, she wanted to know if I was there. If you need to be uplifted, just attend an event where Lindsay is and you will be!
There were about 650 people in attendance at this dinner and I was so glad to have been surrounded by so many courageous heroes. Thank you Bennie for letting us share in your wonderful event!

Steph, thank you for such a wonderful tribute to the Survivor dinner--it was indeed an honor to be a part. Lindsey was the shining star--star as in light. The light coming from her is infectious. Praise God for all those there being heroes for us all....
It was a struggle for me to be there in that setting at the survivor dinner knowing that my brother was fighting one of his last days in his 11 year battle against cancer. He is at peace now and, more than ever I understand why God called me to be there at the survivor dinner Friday night. Let's join the fight and find a cure for this monster in my brothers' name...and my Dad's and my Mothers' and my Aunts' and my little cousin Kennedy Peppers' who's 10 years old and struggling with bone cancer. Thanks Steph, your post is perfect with sweet little Lindsey who is certainly a shining light along with Bennie and all those in Huntsville and Athens who've joined in the fight.
